Just a bit about about me in case you're interested.;-) How it all began... My commitment to The X-Files began on one Friday evening in 1993. I came over to visit my boyfriend one night and he told me about a new show that had to do with aliens, conspiracy and stuff. I immediatly thought *you've got to be kidding me, I'm not going to waste my time watching this crap.* I didn't want to give it a chance. Just as the show was about to begin, he got up to go do something and I got up to change the channel. Needless to say, I never did. It's called "passion" not "obsession!" I was pulled into the story right from the start. I was intrigued by how intelligent and different it was from the other shows of that time. The focus of it wasn't the characters, but the show itself. Well, certainly times have changed and so did the show, as it should. Just like life, it grows and changes. I began to care more about the characters and just like that, I became a Phile. As soon as I got a VCR, I began to tape each show. My friends and family learned quickly NOT call or bother me on Friday (then Sunday) nights between the hours of 9 and 10PM. The next step in my growing obsession was collecting; all sorts of magazines, comic books, video's, action figures, cards, you name it! I'm an easy person to please at Christmas time! What next? I suppose it was inevitable that the Internet would come into being. I have been getting bits and pieces of info regarding the show and that was fine for me until I discovered the newsgroups. Where I found out just how popular the X-File truly was. To ship or not to ship... Believe it or not I was not always a shipper. I thought putting Mulder and Scully in a romantic situation would be a killjoy. Over time, my opinion on that matter changed. Thanks to the tremendous chemistry and acting of both Gillian and David. The change became complete with Fight The Future. By the time season 6 rolled around I was a certified Shipper! Write up my ally! I was reluctant to try fanfics at first. I didn't know what it was all about until I decided to read one, then read another and another. Well, you get the picture. I was happy reading until a little thought creped in my brain saying 'Hey, you can do this.' I didn't listen to it. Then "Requiem" happened. I was really afraid that CC and Co. would mess it up by abducting Mulder. I was pleasantly surprised on well it turned out. I decided to listen to my muse and start writing and the rest they say is history! An ending of sorts. Needless to say, I will be quite sad when the Series finale airs this May. The show might be ending, but story still lives on in the world of fanfic. I don't know what I would do if it wasn't for the wonderful community of excellent authors and supportive readers. Incredible comes to mind. Oh, and one more thing... The only thing I have in common with DD and GA is we're all Leo's! WooHoo! DD's birthday is exactly one week before mine. How special is that and how utterly obsessive! Ah hell, why fight it, right? I hope you will enjoy my site, read a little, and sign my guestbook letting me how I'm doing! Below is a picture of me getting all comfy in Agent Mulder and Scully's famous office. Okay, so it was actually at the 1998 Miami Expo. Close enough.;-) |
